    Re: RIP Kirby

i was never into sports that much but i did have his t-shirt when all those caricature shirts were in style in the late 80's. I liked his stance and how he swung the bat with that kick out.

Kirby's one of those guy's I gotta meet and see a Bunch in my life here in Seattle. Always a stand up guy, would sit there and Talk to you and sign autographs forever. Being a Braves fan, I'll never forget the 91 Series Game 7, Probally one of his shining moments.

                        Re: RIP Kirby

Very sad indeed. As a Yankee fan, I hated seeing him come to bat, but as a baseball fan...he was one of the best. I silently rooted for him during both of the Twin's WS wins. I only hope that he is remembered for the great things he did in life, not for the Bull Sh*t hachett-job Mr. Frank Deford did on him in Sports Illustrated. That was THE LAST issue of SI I ever read... Not saying that Kirby was a saint, just that no one deserves that kind of crap... RIP Kirby...

                            Re: RIP Kirby

It's horrible that he died so young but the question has to be asked, since he retired way before the scandal, how much did steroids play into his health issues? I'm not saying he did roids but I'm sure it's in the back of alot of peoples minds. May he rest in peace. He was one of the greats.
Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

RIP Kirby. I remember watching the twinkies play in the world series back in 91. I was 8 years old and Kirby was a huge inspiration. He was one heck of an athlete.

                              RIP.
