I hate Lance Armstrong with a passion. Sorry guys I am serious. I was sick of him the first day I saw him. I am completely convinced he is no role model dumping his wife when he hit it big and juicing up to get his strength back after Cancer (just my opinion can't prove any of it).

Might want to get your facts straight a bit. It was a mutual divorce because his wife couldn't cope with his rise to fame, combined with the fact that the whole fighting cancer / recovery from cancer and the athletic lifestyle (lots of time on the road).
Not a Lance fanboy or anything like that. Just have listened to my coworkers debating this issue before.

Actually he cheated on her before the divorce and was dating Cheryl Crow before the separation. I don't know why I even care, but when I see the fanboys I have to laugh. I don't think he's a roll model -except he does do whatever it takes to be #1 and get women.
It wouldn't have done his ex any good to cut off her revenue stream by tainting his public image. Truth is she couldn't handle the 'fame' or the playing around that came with it, so I suppose we are both right.
Lance is a hell of an althlete, with or without drugs, however I swear I read that he used steroids as part of his recovery therapy. However he did not use for the Tour d' France, that is correct.
When you take a shower in space, you have to press the water onto your body to clean yourself, and then you gotta vacuum it off. - Ace Frehley
Andy Mapple, not only is he a great skier but he is a REALLY nice guy, one of the nicest I've ever met and he always takes time for the fans. I've even seen him sign an autograph for a little kid that just walked under the do not cross tape while he was suited up on the starting dock waiting to go. His records speak for themselves, he retired a little while ago on the top of his game. His wife was also #1 in womens before she retired to have and raise the kids - and he takes his family almost every place he goes. I have a lot of respect for this guy. I don't know of anybody else that has dominated thier respective sport like he has and for anywhere near as long.
Ranked #1 since 1985
Holds 10 world records
165 pro wins - and there aren't very many events per year I think last year only had 8. I think the second most wins is down around 40 but I can't find the number now, most are below 10.

Lance Armstrong - made a comeback after testicular cancer that had metastasized to his lungs and his brain, to become the first ever 7 time winner of the Tour de France.

He was giver steroids and EPO during his recovery but those drugs have a very short lived affect ( weeks not 8 years ). Get your facts straight, he was the most tested athlete in the WORLD for the past 7 years and never failed a test for a performance enhancing drug.
If chasing chicks nullifies a sports hero you can punt about 90% of the guys listed on this thread.
As far as role model for athletics, yes he is. He showed everyone that you can comeback from the brink of death and thru hard work and dedication rebuild you body to a level thought possible !!!
Tonya Harding. That girl has balls. Jerry Rice for his work ethic; talent and style. And then he went to the Raiders.
