dude a few months ago I got a killer Nikon Coolpix 4mb digital camera on Amazon for $145. check there for good prices.

pics are very good quality. you can pay more for more mb of course.

no idea on closest range, I'm at work and the camera is not. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

just go on Amazon and find it, all the info will be there. you can also google Coolpix Reviews, and get good info that way from the camera mags that review various ones.

Canon Digital Rebel XT... enough said.
Not cheap ($900), but the best pics I've seen from any digital.
If money is an issue, the Canon S400 is a nice choice for under $300.

I believe Nikon is dropping their digital camera line so be careful (support wise ya know). Go with a canon or sony they are the two best cameras out there

Actually just the opposite, Nikon is dropping their film cameras because 90+% of their business is digital.

Nikon is killing all but one or two of their 35mm cameras.
The Nikon D7 is a really sweet digital as well.

but if you want something simplier, i'd recommend the canons.

My bad.. forgot the 0.
Yea.. the Rebel XT is a bit easier to navigate than a D70.
Same quality as long as you use a real lens and not that POS plastic kit lens that it ships with. Talk about a hunk of junk. [img]/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img]
I replaced that with an EFS L series 28-135 with a built in image stabilizer. Sure the lens cost more than the camera, but man it takes awesome pics. [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]
