Watch out for the fruits. They can be good for you in moderation, but certain fruits have little in the way of nutrients and vitamins, but a lot of natural sugars. Veggies are much better. Carrots, celery, cauliflower, cucumber, etc., are great.

Re: Deal from my wife - lose 65lbs = a new Harley!

Ok, here's what I have been doing, Cut out snacking at night (chips, ice cream and cookies). That was killing me. I have a bowl of cereal for breakfast at work (something faily healthy with no fat milk) snack on fruit during the day, have a yogart for lunch. Then eat ONE, thats right ONE normal serving of whatever we are having for dinner. I'm trying to go to the gym every night during the week for cardio and three of those times I'll wok out on the machines. nothing oo crazy. Thatwas doable for me in Jan and I'm starting it up again Monday when I return to work. I know all of those diets work, but I have to look at changing my eating habbits in a way that I can live with. I'm not looking to drop 50 lbs fast. I'm looking to lose it and keep it off. If this don't work, I'll switch to 10 glasses of vodka a day and start taking heroin or somethin!

The bike? that wouldn't be bad either, but like I said, I can't see where it will come from.

Good luck Jim

I am trying to go from 260 to 210, and I am 6-3 as well.

Unfortunately there is no HARLEY involved....just my health.

I am trying to follow the SOUTH BEACH diet.
Staying away from SUGAR and most carbs.
I've had one coke in 3 weeks.

I am also working out for the first time in YEARS!

I am down 15 so far.

GO FOR IT!!

GOOD LUCK~

Geez, we should have a 6-3 club that needs to lose weight. I'm at 243lb., but I'd like to go down 220 by the time we have those 2 weeks of summer in Aug. (seattle area).

South Beach won't make you as crazy as Atkins, though Atkins works. Weight Watchers is good too, you can eat basically anything on that.

Good Luck man, a bike is a beautiful thing, even if it is a Harley!

I did Atkins for years, I still don't eat alot of carbs...I never eat sugar, or drink sugar sodas. I never thought Atkins would work, but fuck...did it work. Once you use it, you will forever live a low carb lifestyle. I fought so hard to lose weight that I feel incredible guilt if I eat a bowl of pasta, or a candybar. I just don't do it.

I am 5-9, people, and I weighed almost 245 in 1997. I didn't look like I weighed that much, because I am stocky and have very broad shoulders...and I wore the weight everywhere, but I was amazed at how much I weighed. I now weigh roughly 170 pounds, and I really can't get down anymore. I am 35 and weigh within 10 pounds of what I weighed when I was 18. Good enough.

Honestly, most people are suprized when I tell them how much I wiegh. I look big, but I carry what I have well. Thats not a good thing. I need to make a life style change. I love to eat. Thats what I need to change.

Look, the bike is really not the thing here. I'm not an idiot. We cannot afford a bike. That being said, I know show wouldn't just blow it off so it will be interesting.

I wonder what I get for waxing my back?
