Snowing in the Mojave???

My friend sent me pics of the first snow they have ever seen there in the desert, they live in a military base in the Southern Cali Mojave area.

Weird weather these days...

I just heard they've closed schools in a few districts just east of San Diego in the mountains. I thought I saw a few flurries here last weekend, figured I was nuts, then heard that there'd been a 21 car pileup up near SF due to snow on the freeway. Apparently these storms are rolling down the coast from Alaska.

I live in the Monterey bay area and can see snow-capped mountains not far away. There's been so much pea-sized hail that it sometimes looks like fallen snow, and some people didn't think to slow down when driving on these icy little marbles... Freak-show weather.

Winter missed cleveland this year because I bought a snow blower..

I live in canada.. Maritimes (luckily not NFLD) and there was like 3 snowfalls all year... usually we are bombarded with snow all year, this year its been like fall for 6 months, insane =[

we did have one big snowfall that apparently was 4 feet, but it was like 2 hours from my town, we only got 2 feet (normal snowfall here)

Snow in the Mojave isn't all that uncommon, I've seen 6 inches or better out there, but this last storm hit a few places that almost never see snow. this year has been unusual for sure, mildest winter I can remember here in NW Florida, its like 80 now,

When it is in the Mojave desert, that's freaky man.

Of course, here in Cleveland, that frost stuff happens in the summer, haha... But in the desert, it is odd.

I lived in the Mojave desert (China Lake) for 5 years.
It snowed every year. We even got our pictures in the local paper for making an Igloo.
