• Worst Remakes - Top 3

Ever hear a song that totally was hosed when it was remade by another band? I was driving home from work yesterday and heard Metallica's remake of Turn the Page by Bob Seger.
What an abortion. Think you can throw any more distortion onto a normally quiet song that builds up at the end. It's not the worst I've heard though. Here's my list;

1. Last Kiss - by Pearl Jam
Off key

2. Turn the Page - by Metallica
An abortion

3. Live and Let Die - Guns and Roses
Some things should just be left alone.

** (also, any remake or original by U2)

When White Lion remade their own song, Broken Heart! The original ruled!!!

I liked Europe's original version of Open Your Heart better than their own remake.
Last Kiss and Turn the page are absolutely horrible. I agree.

I so totally agree on Pearl Jam's Last Kiss - I love the original. Their remake was awful.

Simple Man was butchered by that crappy band Shinedown. Every time I heard it I cringed.

How about continuation songs, like Metallica's Unforgiven II?
Unforgiven was a cool song. II is a pile of poop.

You haven't heard anything until you've heard E'Zuff Z'Nuff go all "Chicago Stockyards" on "Yankee Rose". What I can't get is that Versailles Records keeps putting the GD thing on CDs.

Purple Haze - The Cure ,When I heard this I wanted to jam metal spikes through my ears and chance being deaf forever just to make it stop!

You shook me all night long - Celine Dion ,I mean cmon!

Flame away for this last one :

Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Chris Impelliteri , OMG,such a beautiful song, which he starts out quite nice with ,fooling you into a false sense of sweet melody, but does it last? Hell no,he starts ejaculating his 5million notes a second "technique" all over this once peaceful tune. Crap like this is what killed guitar solos and metal as we knew it,it's not even listenable except to the biggest guitar technique freaks!
