Re: Worst Remakes - Top 3

Most of the worst offenders have been listed already, and I'll add:

Scissor Sisters - Comfortably Numb

Who was the band that covered Stairway To Heaven (on a CD, not just as an encore) back about 1896-87? That took balls to do. I'm thinking it had Hughes in the name.

Evol, I have "Stand In Line" on CD and vinyl (original pressing).
Just a guitar player...

Purple Haze - The Cure ,When I heard this I wanted to jam metal spikes through my ears and chance being deaf forever just to make it stop!

You shook me all night long - Celine Dion ,I mean cmon!

Flame away for this last one :

Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Chris Impelliteri , OMG,such a beautiful song, which he starts out quite nice with ,fooling you into a false sense of sweet melody, but does it last? Hell no,he starts ejaculating his 5million notes a second "technique" all over this once peaceful tune. Crap like this is what killed guitar solos and metal as we knew it,it's not even listenable except to the biggest guitar technique freaks!

Simple Man was butchered by that crappy band Shinedown. Every time I heard it I cringed.

Bon Jovi is like a frozen Coca Cola.. It's cool, it's crunchy, but when all is said and done it is still pop....

Signs - remade by Tesla
That stupid cow jumped over the moon song, the one about the son growing up just like his dad. I can't remember who did it first or second... but it sucked both times.

Layla - Claptons second attempt, he turned into a PUSSY when he remade that song. The first one Rocked...

Wulfe13 it was cats in the craddle by Jim Croche wich I thought was a good song for the time,
& it was Ugly kid Joe who covered it.

Wrong on both Cat Stevens did that one and it's Jim Croce not Croche. Croce was awesome check him out it you havent. Cat Stevens is now a flake.

Wrong again. Harry Chapin's wife actually wrote the lyrics (as a poem about her father I believe). Harry put it to music.

Oh, and I like Shinedown and Tesla's covers

That cats and the cradle song is a good tune..really...pretty meaningful I think!

Was it Cat Stevens or Jim Croce...I always thought it was Croce..like Time in a Bottle..

OH I got the worst re-make ever ..it is Gay at its gayest...Remember some soap opera fag did..that song..hell I don't even know the name of it..the original was gay to begin with...I think it's called "Rock on"..it went something like..

"Hey kid rock n roll, oooh my soul..hey kid rock N roll..rock on"...and that's pretty much it!

it was a slow lame "rock" song that didn't rock!

WTF was that stupid song..it was popular..anyone know what I'm talkin' about??
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.
