Re: lost \"even more respect for Black Sabbath and

+1. Well said. And why on Earth should Ozzy in particular be expected to mention his replacements, as the thread title implies?

They were inducted on the strength of the first 4 albums, maybe the first 3 even. That's as it should be.

Heaven and hell as a good album..gillian era was terrible frankly and everything after dio was goddam awful....in fact there's even some ozzy stuff that i don't think is that great...tbh i think iommi is a very lifeless player..u see him on stage and he's real introverted doesn't realy interact with the crowd a huge a mount...i think there's far better bands tbh....but dio should have got credit - heaven and hell was the last good sabbath album he did good work on that...

I'll just have to disagree with you completely. The ONLY Sabbath album I don't like is Forbidden, which even Iommi admits was a total dog. Frankly, to me all of Iommi's post-Dio Sabbath albums completely blow away Ozzy's post-Randy albums. Ozzy became a Pop Star, while Iommi stayed true to the metal.

No, but it would have been nice if Iommi or Butler had mentioned Dio and maybe thanked him for helping to keep the flame burning. But that wouldn't fit with the corporate program, would it?

Re: lost \"even more respect for Black Sabbath and

I am more than certain that Dio's induction has been cemented in,and he will be there with Rainbow...I don't think there will be much mention of Grahm Bonnet on the occasion.

Kiss will be in the same arguement when it comes to guitarists and drummers, correct?

There will probably be a great many revolving roster bands inducted,so certainly era specific fans will be disappointed, but that doesn't mean they don't recognize their histories....

And if I remember correctly,Dio,Iommi, and Ozzy don't exactly get along very well...Check out Ronnie's disdain for Vivian Campbel.Granted it has subsided some, but he rarely does more than recognize that he was in the band...

Re: lost \"even more respect for Black Sabbath and

Dio did deserve a mention but thats it, 4 orig. members are SABBATH. With their first song in 70, that started metal. At the time there was mostly flowers & love, they sang about the darker side of life WAR, DEATH, DRUGS,.. Iommi's open E rhythm, trills & chord riffs built up a metal Rock.......WAR PIGS today speaks about the evil of politicians (BUSH Cheney)& their war machine. They then & now are still hated that to me is makes them great. The hall of fame means nothing, their early songs do.........!

It also wouldn't fit with the fact that they were inducted on the strength of the Black Sabbath, Paranoid and Master of Reality albums, their MOST influential work. Heaven and Hell is a great record in its own right but is basically Rainbow Lite. It doesn't really compare to the Sabbath that basically created metal, in terms of its impact. Much better singing and playing, but it didn't change the music world like those 3 albums did.

Dio should go in for his solo and Rainbow work, not for a 2-album stint with Black Sabbath.

Sharon is such a c***, she would find out Sabbath & Dio's tour schedule, then book Ozzy's to be in town 1st.Shrewd c**t.

I think Doug filled in for the tour only, he and Coverdale are supposed to be doing the studio thing this year.

Sharon is tough, but she saved Ozzy's life in the early 80's. He would have died probably of a heroin/booz death. No early OZZY/Rhoads, OZZY/LEE, OZZY/Wylde etc., Ozzy amazingly is still going.........!

I think Ozzy was more of a cocaine enthusiast than a heroin junky. However, I am sure he did his fair share of everything.

                              Mike
Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

But think about if they had to mention every singer that Sabbath has had over the years.

Dio (which also happens to be my favorite era of Sabbath)..
Then you have Ian Gillan (Born Again)
                                Glenn Hughes (Seventh Star)
Tony Martin (rest of the catalogue until Ozzy's return)
Not to mention the silent 5th member Geoff Nicholls who played keys on every album since Heaven And Hell.

I realize they only inducted the original 4 classic lineup, which indeed they should've. So quit your cryin' about who they DIDN'T mention.
