well, i can't help you here, but there is one question that comes to my mind when reading this thread:
if you're so afraid of being scammed, why did you sell the guitar on ebay in the first place? [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]

A couple of weeks ago I bought a 1.5 K 1953 Gretsch Syncromatic hollowbody on ebay. Advertised as: "not a collectors item but no repairs or issues".

What I got was a piece of sh .. . The neck was broken once. The sustain block had broken through the top without beeing fixed at all (I could not see it in the picture as the fretboard floats aboce the body). The neck was fixed with a wood screw!

I then took the liberty of writing a letter, basically stating that I wanted my money back fast and otherwise would start legal actions.

I then got accused of not having taken the appropriate way of communication, as ebay required Email communication on these matters ...

Two weeks later I got my money back, including shipping fees. Then I shipped back the piece of sh...

For some reason the shipping took two weeks. Before it arrived the seller announced he would hire a lawyer if the guitar didn´t arrive quickly ...

His feedback was +500 positive, zero negative!

There´s always a good chance of getting f...ed on ebay.
