Uhm... isn't he playing to a prerecorded track? It sounds too damn much like a replica of the origional Tender Surrender track. I have seen him play a few times. I think he is a brilliant player.

I've seen Vai from back in the day with Alcatrazz, to DLR days to his solo and G3 performances. He is amazing and one in a generaton kind of player.
His fucking hands must spread like 1.5 feet between pinky and index stretches. His guitar pyrotechnics are equally impressive.

i rem when i was in my teens listing to him, he is awsome, i have noticed that as he gets older he uses less effects in his sonds... and lets the guitar do more of the talking with out the help of effects..
