What makes Dublin Dr Pepper so different?

Dublin Dr Pepper is still made using the original sweetener, pure cane sugar. In the 1970s the price of sugar rose and soft drink companies started panicking because it was getting too expensive to produce their drinks using sugar. Virtually everyone switched to high fructose corn syrup because it was much less expensive.

HFCS is an ingredient in almost EVERYTHING in America these days anyway....


In Japan, sodas are sweetened with some kind of grape based sugar.. weird.

If you go to your Latin American section of your supermarket you will find sodas that are "sugared". Also, if you go to ethnic markets, you will find the Coke and or Pepsi that is smuggled from Mexico. It has like 2x the sugar.

The only time I actually drink a sugar soda is when I am so hungover I can't open my eyes and I need a sugar and caffeine boost.

Nothing makes you fatter faster than sugar sodas.

FWIW, I love real Coke, with sugar...with HFCS, whatever. Diet Coke tastes like ass to me...but I am used to it. When I get a real Coke...well, it is like an old junkie shooting up after 10 years off.....
