      How about:

Steinberger...Vito Bratta...good call...I would also add Reeves Gabriel

Moog...Rick Wakeman...when I hear Moog, I think Geddy Lee and Moog bass pedals

      Heil...Peter Frampton

What player do you people feel did more for the sales and marketing of the Gibson Les Paul than anybody (Les Paul himself not included).

My pick is Ace Frehely but I wonder if Peter Frampton might be even higher up. Maybe it should be Zack Wylde or Jimmy Page?
Its an interesting question to me. .you know, it is era specific..I think Pagey did the most in the '70s, followed by Frampton...but Slash basically pu them back on the map, when they were really faltering

How about the Gibson SG?? Tony Iommi? George Harrison? Eric Clapton? Frank Zappa? Hands down ANGUS YOUNG

Fender Stratocaster?? There are a ton of them again, era specific...'70s, Hendrix and Clapton...Hendrix saved the strat from oblivion, Clapton took it to the next level....come the '80s and you have a huge SRV and Dave Gilmour 'Strat influence...through MTV and Gilmour touring with Floyd in the late '80s. I would also say that Eric Johnson has sold alot of 'Strats to shredders, as has Yngwie

Fender Telecaster?? again.. a ton of them I bought my first Tele because Page played them in the Yardbirds and early Zep. Also, because of Jeff Beck and Gilmour playing them on "Run Like Hell".

Flying V (the body style) could it be Michael Schenker or Rudy? What about Hendrix or even earlier? tough call...Hendrix probably gave it its first popularity...but guys like J. Geils, Billy Gibbons, Albert King put it on the map in the '70s.

Floyd Rose? EVH I guess Yes, 100%

Explorer body style?? You could argue that Mathias Jabs really did alot for the Explorer but what about Rick Neilsen??[/QUOTE] What about Billy Gibbons??
Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Clapton did absolutely NOTHING for BC Rich that launched them into any kind of spotlight.. He happened to be a fan of Bernie's acoustic line in the late 60's and when Bernie went electric, he had already become friends with him and Bernie asked EC to do some ads for his fledgling company in the mid 70's
It was Joe Perry, Rick Derringer, and Johnny Agogo (and later Elliot Easton) who basically helped "launch" the company.
I missed the Hamer thing, not surprised someone had mentioned it. As for BC Rich, it is straight from the mouth of Bernie about Clapton. When Clapton did the ads, plus appeared in a british music mag playing one, Bernie said his phone literally rang off the wall for orders. He himself said the shift from a local luthier to a national name brand began with Clapton.
