And Mike B.
I agree with you on the whole EVH/Kramer thing now....EVH did market them better, even though Richie Sambora was more loyal to them.

For Anderson, you could probably say Kirk hammett. Anderson himself has said several times that his orders and visibility blew through the roof overnight when hammett was pictured with one on the cover of guitar world. (or guitar one or whatever mag it was. I had the issue he refers to many moons ago when i bought guitar mags all the time (80's) Hammett of course people would associate with ESP mostly but what else is there for anderson?
You forgot a couple companies...
Hamer - Rick Neilson
G&L - Jerry Cantrell
BC Rich hit the spotlight overnite because of Clapton, even though no one associates the player/company, for obviousr reasons.
edit: i see someone mentioned g&l/cantrell
I would say Hammetts influence as an ESP player totally eclipses Lynch, as far as visibility and influence goes.Last edited by markb; 04-14-2006, 08:31 PM.

Clapton did absolutely NOTHING for BC Rich that launched them into any kind of spotlight.. He happened to be a fan of Bernie's acoustic line in the late 60's and when Bernie went electric, he had already become friends with him and Bernie asked EC to do some ads for his fledgling company in the mid 70's
It was Joe Perry, Rick Derringer, and Johnny Agogo (and later Elliot Easton) who basically helped "launch" the company.Last edited by VulfgangPfuck; 04-14-2006, 09:55 PM.

This is a very interesting thread, but I think what most of us are doing, is posting the guys WE most equate with a certain manufacturer. It's interesting how several manufacturers have one outstanding player that the majority of people think of.
Guild - Kim Thayil
Randall - Dimebag
Suhr - Mark Knopfler
etc.
Of course these are not big manufacturers like Gibson, Fender, Marshall, and don't have hundreds of big name artists playing them.
Take for example a Fender Strat, and I'll bet we can come up with dozens of artists who currently (or at one time) use them almost exclusively.
Eric Clapton
Stevie Ray Vaughan
David Gilmour
Jimi Hendrix
Yngwie Malmsteen
Robert Cray
Pete Townshend
Adrian Smith
Dick Dale
etc.
Some heavy hitters there!!!
