Converse shoes... Chuck Taylor's

I've personaly never worn them, however I see them everywhere
what's so special about them? is it comfort, durabilty, or style?

I have flat feet.
Chuck T's are perfect for me.
They have no arch in them.
I have been wearing them for 20 years.
I have a pair of New Balance that do feel good for a while but after that my feet hurt.
It sucks having flat feet.

I think they were more 'special' when they were still made in the USA.
However, I need arches in my shoes, so I can't wear them no matter who makes them

I wanted a pair so badly. So I went to a store and tried some on. They were extremely uncomfortable for me. It's like they are made for people with long, skinny feet. Almost like they're made for someone with arachnodactyly (my education is paying off, bitches). My feet/hands are shorter and wide/stumpy. So they will do me no good.

I started wearing them years ago because they are great for skateboarding. They are very flat and thin, which means you can feel more with your feet. Much better than bulky shoes. I wore them for years, and then stopped for some reason. They became hard to find, and expensive. I recently bought a pair of Dickies that are just like Chucks, and they are awesome. I wear them a lot.

The history is they were the first basketballl shoes to have an endorsees name. Back in the 60's they were the thing. Every kid had them. I had both high and low tops. It has to be a style thing now with all the real high tech shoes that have been introduced. I find them very uncomfortable. But, I have high arches.

I had a pair of those in the '80s. They were the higher ones, though, that had two colors and rolled/flipped up and down. They were bright blue on the outside with yellow on the inside; when you rolled the high part down around the ankle to normal size, you had the yellow now on the outside. They made them in a bunch of different colors. They were okay, but they weren't the most comfortable shoe.
