i have suffered from back problems before as well...an old car accident pops up to haunt me now and then...try to limit your movements as much as you can, and maybe sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees may help...d.m.

I found out from my chiropractor that icing the area usually helps more than a heating pad. Heat can actually aggrivate the condition. Don't know if this helps or not, but it works for me. Hope you feel better!

I feel for you Sir....Definately been there....L5-S1 in my case. I had surgery that initially failed. The good thing is that usually with a bulged disk, the body will absorb some of the swolen disk material. In my case it only took 6 months. Of course it didnt help any when my doctor tried to "adjust" my alignment in the office...that was not pleasent. I worked for GM/Delphi at the time, and they would'nt even let me in the door until their doctors cleared me to return to work.

Stay away from the pain pills if you can. The two best things I have found is 800mg Ibuprofin, and a hot tub.

Rest, Ice, Cronic and Exercise. In that order. hard to use compression on yer spine. When ya get the opportunity, spring for a portable spa. Hot tub has been better to me than anything. HDoug is right too. Two years of Talwin(synth. morphine) didn't do jack shit. I woudn't wish what yer feelin on anyone. Get well soon and resist the scalpel.

Weed, weed and more weed!! Problem is, I only have oil right now, and I hate smoking tobacco, so there is no convenient way to smoke oil without tobacco. I'm sad.
