Just in time too. I went to a new local guitar shop that just opened down the street from me. Its called Route 1 Guitars. There is also a GC and a Daddy's but they are around 15 minutes away. This store is less than a mile away! Anyway... I went in to check it out and get some strings. The first thing I noticed is that the $99.00 brand new guitars that are in GC and Daddy's were $149.99 at their shop. Oh well.. I figured they are a small shop with not even close to the buying power of a large chain. I asked for 2 sets of D'adarrio XL's 9-42. The girl who helped me (she was very nice) rang them up and I put them on my debit card. $6.95 per pack!
Thats the most I ever spent on D'addario strings. Except for the music lessons they give.. I can't see how they will be able to remain in business with a Daddys Junky and a GC in the next town over. Not at those prices.
