Hey... I'm gonna go buy some new tires today... provided there is someone there to install them.
I was going to do it last week, but decided to hold off until today.
That's my boycott of the boycott.
Interestingly enough, my trash got picked up this morning.
Looks like the legal Mexican population here in Phx is still on the job.
    Cheers to them.

Maybe Pablo will take the day off and rethink some of his "designs".

The organizers here in Mississippi are dumb as rocks! They had a rally in Gulfport yeaterday, not a bad idea. But today, the big day, they're marching in Laurel - a town of maybe 25,000 in a very rural area of the state. I don't doubt that there are migrant workers in the area but they will be dealing with the redneck mindset and things may get ugly!

I'll let y'all know if anything wild happens from that!

Actually, Wal-Mart is a GOOD job in these parts, not many Hispanics working there. In your neck of the woods I'm sure it's self-serve, quicker than finding an English-speaker to help you....

Good job, RJ! Make small purchases, too, that's what I'm doing today. MikeB, what are you doing? Report in!

OK, Phase 1 is complete! I just got in from my walk. I went to the corner gas station and bought a muffin ($1.29). Then north to another neighborhood, stopped in at Jack in the Box for breakfast, 2 Ciabatta sammiches (Buy one get one coupon so $3.22). Ralph's Market (groceries) got a chocolate milk and pastry ($1.50). Some businesses I wanted to go to were not open yet (El Pollo Loco) or were closed totally (Sav-On moved 2 miles away so that store was closed down already). Then I walked back to my hood and visited a tiny 98cent store (Latin owned). They were open so I got a 8oz container of bread crumbs (.98). In every place I struck up conversations about my "mission" sometimes just a shouted "Boycott the Boycott!" with upraised fist.

Traffic seemed a little light today...

Now to take a shower...then I'll hop in the Buick and shop further....

Emmy I don't think Walmart is closed but I wouldn't know! Ar.

All this talk of hispaic imigrants had me getting hungry for a plate of baked chicken and yellow rice with beans. I headed to my favorite spot, Jiminez Deli. My favorite, not for the food, but because the hispanic broad calls me "poppi" when I walk in. Well, my boycot of Jiminez Deli has begun. She was closed with some jibberish sign in the window. I will no longer buy from her shop. I will never again hear her say, "Hey poppi, how you ben? Is ben a loooong time since you came in." She can send her cuban sandwiches to Castro and see if he likes 'em.

I remembered another place in town, Lilly's. Luckilly, they were open. I got service with a smile from a rather large breasted hispanic woman. She didn't call me "poppi", but I got my fix of chicken and rice and beans.

Don't worry; 3 more visits and you'll be "poppi" to her too - especially if you compliment her and the food!

Ha ha Scott, why didn't you tell her what you were doing....bringing her your business rather than the other place...then tell her you want her to call you papi from now on

:ROTF: It's no fun if you have to ask them to call you poppi. It ruins the fantasy.

I think that most Americans create their own problems regarding immigration. The people who complain about the illegals are the same people who would never pay what a landscaper would charge if every laborer was on the books.
                            I wonder this....
What has the worse impact on our economy?
Having illegal aliens working off the books doing all the labor jobs that Americans refuse to do because of the low pay.. OR
Deporting them all, or having them become citizens which would pretty much raise the price of many of the things we currently pay for such as:
                            Landscaping
                            Car Washing
                            Restaurant service
                            Construction
                            Fast food industry
                            Window Washing
                            Pool Service
                            Roofing
                            The Garment industry
jeez... I could go on and on

My solution... well.. until we deport every illegal alien and close our borders down there is no solution.
Regarding english being spoken less and less (it seems that many immigrants don't even bother to learn english anymore), that again is our own fault. Political correctness and bleeding heart liberal policies are adopted and written into law by the politicians that WE... the US Citizens... vote into office.
Its all our fault. We made our bed. Now we have to sleep in it.

The Wal-Mart here is entirely in Spanish, signs and everything. Hardly a soul speaks english and all of the intercom announcements are in Spanish. It's an INS paradise, let me tell ya.
I'm going down there today wearing my Angelina Jolie tomb raider outfit and an INS ballcap. :ROTF:
