      So how'd it go Ron?

The reviews of this movie are pretty harsh. Rotten Tomatoes has it at 19% which is lower than Silent Hill.

Also... What the fuck... Mission Impossible 3 is out? I didn't even know they were making one! Never seen a preview, ad, or whatever for this movie...

My bud & I went to a 4:30 PM showing...theater wasn't that crowded. While I knew going in that it was going to be lengthy (2 hours 29 minutes), I experienced suspense, mystery, foreboding, a great musical score, and even a couple "jump" (scary) scenes. The whole "secret" is a but muddled and the end seemed to drag on a bit (once Silas exits the movie a lot of life goes with him)...the scenes after seemed anticlimactic, but they were emotional.
There is much exposition, and that is to be expected because it's a very faithful adaptation of the book....critics seemed to really blast DVC for this but what they report as "dull", we of higher intelligence mark "cerebral"

I really appreciated the flashback scenes, and I especially enjoyed the "historical flashbacks" - one critic found these scenes to be "cheesy" but I feel they really help explain things visually (thus avoiding more of the talking head sitch).

I did find (and comment on) a few historical errors....they brought me out of the movie momentarily...but it was easy to get back into it. This isn't a "non-stop thrill ride" but there are plenty of exciting and suspenseful scenes interspersed throughout. The locations are beatiful, for the most part authentic and dripping with history....a lot of French is spoken but it's subtitled....consensus is that even though it's fiction it will spark conversation about faith, legend, and the lengths people go to for both....and the role of the Catholic Church through history.

Can't wait for Angels & Demons! Hopefully the producers will take a hint from criticism and inject more action into that one.

I laughed out loud at that.

Are they going to make that too? Confirmed?

I saw the movie yesterday. Found it enjoyable. Can't see what all the fuss is about, really. No I haven't read the book.

I saw it today and I thought it was faithful to the book. I really enjoyed it, fuck the critics...it was a great movie.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Nothing's confirmed...Hanks is booked for the next couple years...Brown's sequel (book) won't be out til '07....Angels & Demons also "stars" Langdon - in a similar but more exciting plot involving the Illuminati and the Vatican...so I figure the powers that be will green light it as DVC has so far grossed $77 million in the US alone....that's in only 2 days...plus it was released worldwide...so, I PREDICT huge dough for a series of movies, if Brown can improve his writing style and/or keep his fans without running out of ideas....I predict a different director, though, and maybe a different writer also....If DVC is doing this well with all the critical brickbrats and a long running time, imagine what a pumped-up, faster-paced A&D will do?

Saw him on Leno the other night. He's not "A League of Their Own" fat though. And the long hair suits him.
