I'm bored, so I just like to name a random band to discuss.

I've been listening to these guys since I was growing short and curlies. I have never grown bored with them, and never been dissapointed with anything they have done. They have a new CD (Playing the Angel) out, and it's really a damn good CD. The weird thing is, I don't listen to any of their older stuff anymore. A lot of it seems too poppy for me now, even though I used to love it. The new stuff is very dark. I also really like Ultra from a few years back. I guess it's kind of a guilty plaeasure, except I'm not embarrassed about listening to them, because they are great songwriters.
    Sleep!!, That's where I'm a viking!!

Yeah, I could never really get into them....even though I have my own personal Jesus and could identify with them.......

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

I am into the new wave stuff like Depeche Mode and whatnot. Bands like that have a huge influence on today's stuff, although you maybe wouldn't notice unless you were a fan of both.

Me too, I actually tried to get a Depeche Mode and Duran Duran band together.

They're cool. I've got two of their discs that I haven't listened to in quite awhile... Songs of Faith and Devotion, and a double live cd called 101.

To me their music is the equivalent to heavy metal in syntie-pop - real shredders in their own respect.

We danced a lot to songs like Master and servant or (not sure if that´s the title: Two minutes warning, it´s the refrain actually) back in school. Always good fun.

And its probably little known but Gahan plays Charvel guitars. The guitar riff in Personal Jesus was recorded with a 550XL. If I recall correctly, check the photos in the inserts for Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion and you will see them playing Charvels.
