Getting married in 22 days. It seems like yesterday when the little counter on our website said 400 plus days on it. We have been engaged for a while, and in three weeks planning a huge wedding and building a house will all be finished. Guess I do not know what to think. I am excited to say the least, but burnt out at the same time. My house is being built 1 hour from where I work and driving up there every night to clean it has been tiring; not to mention all the work we did ourselves.
The carpet is going in today and the asphalt should be going in on monday. Provided it does not rain, we can get our CO on wed and start moving in. That leaves us with two weeks to finalize all the planning for a 350 plus wedding, sod the yard (should only take me a day to do), go up north for a funeral I have to speak at that is 3 hours away while driving back the same day, move in, finish pre-marital councling and get all the loose ends wrapped up for our house.
I have heard my brother is planning a bachelor party for me which should be a lot of fun and relaxation. Moving seems a bit much to me as I have lived in the same house all my life. I do not have a lot of stuff (clothes, guitar stuff, hockey stuff, electronics) but we have to move all the furniture in.. heck I need to figure out what we are going to do for furniture lol.
Lotsa work in the past year and in the next three weeks, but getting married is generally a lot of work eh? My future wife pointed out that getting married and building a house are two of the most stressful things people go through and we are doing them both at the same time. I have had to make up my time at work for a two week honeymoon, so my hours have increased dramatically. Seems like a lot of a 22 year old kid to go through eh?
One great bonus is that I am going to start buying some gear soon as a wedding present to myself. She had three huge bridal showers and we got most of the stuff we need from them. I think we may aquire some decent garage sale furniture, throw a cover over it or something and be happy.
