  • Anyone catch the VH1 Rock Honors?

I only saw the last song and a half by Def Leppard and of course the Kiss segment. Was wondering how the rest was...really only care about Priest. Although I dig Paul Rodgers, so I guess he can make me tolerate Queen.

Thought it was funny how the "Super Group" pulled Ace Frehley on stage and Kiss used Tommy Thayer (at least I assume it was Tommy).

Foo Fighters led off with a raw version of Tie Your Mother Down.
    Very cool.
I actually liked Paul Rogers singing with queen. He was a little rough on the high notes, but I really like his voice so I give him a pass on that.

God Smack played a medley of Priest tunes. Sounded ok.
Priest played Breaking the Law and You've Got Another Thing Coming. Nice job there, although they sounded a bit rushed. Both songs were too fast.

All American Rejects played Photogragh. They are pretty bad although the dude cut the lead part with ease.

Lep played Pyromania and that T-Rex cover that I am unfamiliar with. 21st Century Man, I think. Eh....

I didn't see the Kiss segment, I was just too tired.

Dude, I hope you meant that you DIG Paul Rodgers!

But to answer your question, no, I missed it.

If the crowd is shouting for an encore, but the sound guy is shaking his head, ignore him and play anyway

Yep watched it, it was okay, nothing to get overally excited about.
I enjoyed The Priest, BUT, is Rob putting on some weight?
Looks like he is to me.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Watched it... Paul Rogers needs to stick to Bad Company tunes.
I don't care what anyone says, Queen should have hired George Michaels.
He is one of the few that can pull off Freddy's stuff and make it sound good.
With Paul, it just sounds like Bad Company covering Queen tunes.
            Wrong voice IMO.
Priest ruled!!! Best show of the night!
Rob sounded killer as usual. KK and Glen kicked ass!

Lep kicked butt as well... Joe's voice actualy sounds good for the first time in years.
All American Rejects should have tried another Lep tune as they butchered Photograph.
Photograph is the hardest lep tune to sing. And the guys totaly screwed up the guitar parts for the chorus. The Solo was decent.

As for KISS... Same boring shit... I used to love them.
I thought they retired already? No wait, Gene doesn't have ALL the money in the world yet.

I saw it. It was pretty decent...but it was missing one crucial thing....

              There was no VAN HALEN.

              Mike
Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Saw it. I don't think Rob Halford's voice was all that great... he seemed to struggle and can't hit the high notes any more.

                  20th Century Boy.

And the Lep song is called Rock of Ages. The album was Pyromania.

Judas Priest! The same boring sh*t! Heh, too bad they couldn't play some other less "popular" stuff.

+1 The band was solid but Rob definitely didn't sound good.

I saw the bit with priest and def leppard. Those dudes from priest had crushing tone.. I was amazed. They have cool guitars too!

I TOTALLY agree. I've said George Michaels needed to sing for Queen for friggin years man... He's perfect, absolutely perfect for it.
