The best part of the show was Jamie Pressly in the "KISS" miniskirt.

      sully's report:

-foo fighters did a GREAT job with tie your mother down.
-queen stuff w/paul was okay, but it just makes me miss freddie more.
-godsmack sucks. dude didn't play electric eye right, and if you're going to segue into the slow part of "victim of changes" you better be able to hit the high notes. disgrace to the name "sully."
-priest was ok, but i never liked breakin' the law, and rob's creative phrasing in YGATC drove me nuts, and it ruined the song for me.
-all american rejects sucks, and photograph is out of the singer's vocal range. also sounded like they were outta tune.
-def lep was okay i guess, but joe is sounding more and more like brian johnson to me as he gets older. no idea what the finish was on phil's pc1 was, but it didn't look good on tv.
-rob zombie, tommy lee, slash, gilby, and scott ian fucking kicked ass on god of thunder. fuckin' a. ace had a kickass blue/silverburst metal flake lpc, but ace, don't screw up your own solos. that made me very sad.
-scab kiss played detroit rock city and love gun. sounded like kiss, but you can tell that paul's having rough times with his hip replacement; he wasn't moving around much (for him).

all in all, enjoyable. although i don't know if i really agree that def leppard needed to be there, but i stopped liking them when they stopped sounding like ac/dc.

oh, and the more i see brian may play guitar, the more in awe i am of the guy's playing. imo, his playing sets a benchmark for guitarists; he always plays the right thing. the guy's just great.

You know who was busting their balls?
                      The stage/road crew.
To do that many acts as they did, thats effiency.
A very hard working special crew deserving of recognition.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

I loved the show. Especially the fact that it was 90% music and 10% tributes/yappin'.

To me the best tributes were the Foo Fighters and "supergroup." You could just tell that Grohl and Taylor were having the time of their lives. When there were three drummers (Dave, Taylor, and the Queen dude) doing the intro to "We Will Rock You," that was totally badass.

As for Supergroup...Scott Ian was clearly in heaven, playing Gene's bass. I personally LOVED Ace's blue sparkleburst Les Paul. And Rob Zombie's leather jacket is the coolest piece of clothing ever.

You know who I thought was the lamest? (And I know I'll take a lot of shite for this.) Kiss. Mind you, I love Kiss. It's just that they seemed to be a parody of themselves or something. Maybe it was just Gene, with his stupid hip gyrations and air humping. Okay, okay, you like having sex with girls, we get it. Now could you just spit some fucking blood already?

Overall, a great show. I'll watch it again for sure.

I thought Ace had the coolest guitar all night.

I also couldn't stand Halfords fucked up phrasing of YGATC, it blew.

You know what REALLY sucked? Paul's singing. Man, I could hear the Coyotes coming out of the forest to howl at the moon during his set...he blew.

Of course, there was no VAN HALEN...so it was a half assed "Rock Honors". Shit Def Lamo Leppard gets honored???

Why does Van Halen always get the brush off? Of course, they probably wouldn't have been able to get a band together to play anyway....

                            Whatever.

                            Mike
Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Spot on, man!! "High & Dry" was a great album, but they went downhill rapidly after that. I thought they sucked on the Honors show--sloppy and unfocused. Priest is alway great, but the "supergroup" was the hit of the night for me. They sounded way better than Kiss, even with the Space Ace being a little off.

"Scab Kiss" is a great name!!!!

I loved KISS, I grew up loving them, at one time I had An Ace Washburn and the Black and Cherry Epi gtrs. Bought an NJ BC Rich eagle and painted it to look like Paul's Leapord print one, made a Mirrorball Iceman, owned a PS10TD, Washburn PS500 and another PS500 that I did the rhinestone job on. (Too much free time, I know).
The last time I saw them live was the original line up farewell tour in 97 I think it was, then Peter left, ok, I always liked either Erics better anyway, but then they did the Dick Clark New Years Eve thing and I saw some clown in Ace's makeup and I swore them off.
I still listen to their stuff, but refuse to go to a live show anymore.
My 6 year old loves Ace and Gene, and 2 days ago asked me to go see them if they come around. Of course I said yes, as much as I feel like a hypocrate saying I'd go, but I don't have the heart to tell him it's not really Ace.

Sorry about that, I feel better now...
Recorded the show, but haven't had time to watch it yet, but at least now I know what to expect.
