Take a dump in a box. Address it to yourself, and insert in mailbox.

We're kinda backwards here in Louisiana. If you live in a residential community, the mailboxes are either bunched up in groups of four or the individual boxes are located at the end of the driveway. The only "secure" boxes I've seen are at apartment complexes or gated communities.

As a suggestion, try to find a neighbor that doesn't work, preferably a noisy old bitty. If you're expecting packages, ask her to pickup your mail for you and then you'll know it's safe.

If you find out who it is, shit in a plastic bag, leave it on his porch, and set it on fire.

I'd ship to you place of business. My wife is a stay at home mom so have lesser valued stuff shipped to my house. Most of the time huger dollar stuff goes to my work. I did however come home once and had a VHT 50CL sitting on the porch that the UOS man just sat there...wife and kids were home all day too

            I feel your pain Mike...

I was pickpocketed on the subway on the way to a street festival once. At the stop before mine, I saw my (empty) wallet on the floor as people were getting off the train. Of course, it was the only day in my life that I was carrying about $1000 in cash on my person.

I hope you find the shithead who ripped you off.

ouch, ouch, ouch...to many bad theft stories. I must say..I have been lucky, I have pretty good neighbors who will take in a box if it's going to be left out for long.
I also have a PO box if the seller will deliver to it and a package box for larger US mail at my residence for postal items when I'm not home.

For anything else.. I'd have the delivery service leave packages for pickup at your pickup point and not at your door. Sometimes you may have to pay for an extra service like insured and for your signature or sign a paper to have all packages for pick-up only at the nearest outlet. At least it'll give you peace of mind until you get a camera or resolve it some other way.

Get a PO Box, and have everything of value shipped there. If it won't fit in the box they'll hold it for you and put a notice in the box. It may be a pain to have to go there to pick up your stuff but it's worth it. I think we pay something like $35.00 per year for ours. I've also had a recent problem with my new UPS guy leaving stuff on the front porch, so I talked to him about it. Now, I leave a vehicle unlocked in the driveway, he puts the packages in there and locks it up. That has worked out very nicely. Of course I guess someone could break into the vehicle and get the stuff, but that's a lot harder than just taking them off the porch.

That's what I thought, based on the title...it still sucks though. Speaking as someone who has had their athletic locker, car, and finally apartment broken into, I'm glad to hear it was just a pickup.

Would you be able to get some kind of reimbursement thru the seller?

Well, that wouldn't make sense, it wasn't the seller's fault!

                            hmm

In the UK our mail gets pushed through our doors, not left in a box for all to steal :P

If you arent home and a parcel arrives.. tough. it'll be waiting in the local post office for you (and your ID\card they push through your door) to come and sign for it

here in Onratio there's usually a big mail box across the street with small mailboxes and each person has a key so no one can get in..
for big stuff they knock, if no ones there they live a notice at the door saying come pick up ur stuff at the local post office
If the crowd is shouting for an encore, but the sound guy is shaking his head, ignore him and play anyway

Right. How bout if it was insured for shipping?, or did it already make its destination, so insurance wouldn't cover it?
