Dave has finally gone over the edge. What part of his chemically imbalanced brain thought that was a good idea?

Dave gone over the edge??? I dont think so. More like Dave as per usual, right in character I'd say. I guess it was ok, but he didn't really sing that well. Song was a bit awkward translating to that style. He'd have been better off with some actual bluegrass standards that he could ham it up to, forget the van halen angle.

+1, MarkB. Personally, I didn't like it, but I'm no fan of bluegrass, and I never really even liked "Jump." I thought Dave sang it fine and acted fine. He would've done much better with a bluegrass standard, or better yet, coming out with a new 3-piece hard rock band and new material.

She was just agreeing with you so she could get back to what she was doing.

WOW ... I am speechless ... the worst deconstruction of a song on any covers I´ve ever heard.

They should have played spanish fly.

Yeah, but that wasn't the point. It was showcasing a bluegrass band, who recorded a tribute to VH, and were able to wrangle the lead singer for a couple tunes. I'm not a blue grass fan, and am not too keen on that genre even thinking of doing Van Halen. But, Dave has said for the last twenty years that Van Halen is ingrained in the fabric of Americana, and this is just another example of how far reaching that CVH is.

That said, I'm gonna crack a beer, fire up the grill, and crank VH I from the back of my 78 Chevy pickup.....

i actually enjoyed it. For who Dave is now (older, etc) it was a great performance - he looked like he was having a lot of fun doing something a little different.
