Green beer bottles make beer taste better.

I have done lots of research (trust me on this one) and beer in green bottles almost always tastes better.

Some examples:

Heineken, Grolsch, Steam Whistle, Stella Artois, Becks, St. Peters

All are incredible fucking beers. So say I.

After green, it seems that clear is the next best, then brown, and then cans.

I'm off to do some more research.

While I am also a great big fan of both Guinness and Newkie Brown, they are not exactly summer beers are they. Perhaps I should have been more specific, and said pilsners taste better in green bottles. Even so, I'm not sure what you mean, that they stink. Do you even get Steam Whistle down there? What about St. Peters?

He said that any beer that came in a clear bottle had some sort of sun protectant in it so that the beer wouldn't skunk in the sun. Something similar to the way vitamins are kept in dark bottles. That being said, the only beer in a clear bottle that tastes good to me is Newcastle Brown.

You need to try Old Speckled Hen, Black Wych, Hobgoblin... I could go on. If you like Newkie Brown, you're probably gonna like these too.

Oh, and here's a tip: Don't leave your beer sitting in the sun.

Yes.

The coloured bottles (green even more so than brown) preserve the beer from getting too many side-effects from excessive lighting or direct sunlight.

Stella's my favorite normal beer. Hell the main brewery is right here in town, the courtyard has like 15000 keggars standing on it.

I agree on the green bottle theory... however my favorite beer BASS is on a brown bottle.

Old Speckled Hen and Hobgoblin I've tried. Black Wych I have not. I'm a huge fan of German beers. The Purity Act of 1516 might have been the best thing ever to happen to beer.

if you think becks is any good then you've never had a *real* beer i mean, there are worse brews, but becks is hardly more than mediocre imho.
to keep this on topic:
martinsbräu (brown bottle) >> becks (green)
same thing goes for thünger pils, distelhäuser, lohrer pils, hell i even prefer oettinger over becks
now, you obviously never heared of martins and the likes mostly local franconian brands.
seems like sometimes it DOES rule to live in germany, it's like every 5th town has its own brewery the possibilities are endless....

Beck's is OK. There are many more beers I prefer. But I think it would probably be safer if I never visited Germany. With that many good beers around, you'd better lock up your daughter, lock up your wife. Fuck it, lock up your farm animals as well.
