I lived in California where lots of houses had radiant heat in the slab. These houses were built in the "50's. My house had copper pipes and I never had a problem in the 25 years I was there. Of course, I never heated the house. But there was still water in them and pressure. Most of the pricier ones had galvanized steel pipes and they busted all the time. They went to baseboard water heat. It's a lot cheaper in the long run. Because, once you get one leak you get 100.
