I work in a grain alcohol distillery. I started there as a boiler tech, but now run the distillation process. We make 190 proof beverage and 200 proof fuel alcohol.

I want to work with Creepy !
I've been with United Technologies for 14yrs... 8 of them at Sikorsky - we make Blackhawk and other helos - , then 5 1/2 at Pratt & whitney (make jet engines), now back at Sikorsky.
Some days are ho-hum, but overall - pretty cool job - especially when you hear of a rescue/lifesave with one of our products. We helped alot of people out after the levees failed in New Orleans...
If we could just keep office politics out of here - the place would be great. Awesome education bennies too - they fully pay for me to go to school, I get paid time off to study, then a $10K bonus when the degree is awarded. They paid for 2 masters degrees for me so far - and in Sept I start my BS in Music and Sound recording...

I am a Special Ed teacher in a locked unit in here in Los Angeles. I deal with a lot of street kids with terrible home situations. Believe it or not I love what I get out of it. The pay is obviously not great, but I have plenty of time off and no two days are ever the same.

I work in IT for a small state funded Telephone company. Of course the pay could always be better, but I am doing what I like, with great people, with a company that takes good care of us.
                Just one more guitar!

I've been an engineer in the energy business for 26 years, been in nuclear power then, the oil and gas industry. (Must be a good job with all the oil that is needed. Nah!) The nuclear industry went belly up with the politicians and now the oil and gas industry has become a politcal mess. I do some consulting on the side, but not enough to pay the bills. I should have persued my Studio guitar career Just think, I would have been in the studio with Janet Jackson and Brittney like some of my former classmates
Each week, that I make it to Friday, I thank the Lord I'm still getting a paycheck. But for how long?

I work for the US Military. Cool thing is...all the time that I did in the military an active duty soldier counts towards retirement. I still blow shit up on a daily basis, I still do a LOT of travel to forign lands, only this time around it is to places that I'd LIKE to go to. I go to the UK, Belgium, South America, France, Mexico....it's a lot of fun. I don't get to travel with the president's entourage anymore working for the Secret Service like I did when I was active duty EOD, but the trade off is a hell of a lot more money and I get to go home at night if I want, and if I don't want to, then it is overtime pay.

I look at all of my college graduate high school buddies that went IT and such....looked good at the time, and I wasn't making shit in the military or any of the odd jobs I held prior to that.....now I feel sorry for them....wondering about job security....they look stressed, bored and just plain unhappy...I tell them ...see you should have quit high school like me and played your cards right LOL.
I live on the edge of danger facing life and death every single day.....then I leave her at home and go disarm bombs.

I am a maintenence worker in a hospital. I fix things around the building. I also work with drywall, do electrical work and plumbing work. I'm not too keen on the boilers, as I know not a damn thing about them, but I get by. My pay is good for the area I live in, I'm union and have job security as long as the hospital doesn't get shut down. Since it's an old folks hospital, and we keep cranking out babies and babies turn to old people eventually, we'll be okay.

I get 12 holidays, 12 sick days, 2 personal days, and am up to I think 3 weeks, or maybe still two weeks vacation (the only reason I'm unsure is because this medical leave may change my seniority date). I'm 24 and have 6 years in with the county. I'll at least stick it out until I'm guaranteed a pension, even if it's a pittance, it'll still be nice to have.

A lot of people make more than me, but I'm basically your average high school educated bum, that doesn't know dick about dick. I'd like to think I'm going to go to school to learn Japanese, and go to Japan to teach English, but the Penn State campus that's local to me, doesn't offer the course

I'm a Senior Art Director at a large networking company. I get to design and art direct large print, multimedia, video, etc projects. I also occasionally teach graphic design at SJSU and UC Extension. Sometimes I do freelance design work, but only when it's something really cool.
