It was a $400 Alvarez AE200CS (cherry suburst- fuckin pretty one at that!)
It was a pretty damn nice electric to be had as a first guitar.

I browse ebay here and there... never found one yet!

I've done several pretty stupid deals in my time. The two that haunt me the most are -
Trading a Charvel 550XL AND a Les Paul Standard for a particularly mediocre Jackson USA bolt-on Strat.
Swapping a gorgeous blue marble-finish Hamer Steve Stevens for a Carvin V220-shaped plank. (That was also a 150-mile round-trip)
