I've been playing Peavey amps for the past 10+ years, although the only recent model I've owned was a TransTube Special 212. I gig with either a VTM-60 head or Classic 60 power amp depending on the venue, but after trying out a XXX head last weekend, I have a serious GAS problem. A buddy of mine has two Wolfgangs, and they are definitely high-quality guitars.

It occurs to me that the only non-Peavey amp I've owned since around `95 is a Jackson.

Peavey makes great amps. I have a 6505+ and a Classic 50 head... love them both. I checked out a JSX briefly and was very impressed.

I also have a Wolfgang, and it is a great guitar. I'm sure the new Wolfgangs (whatever they are called now), are just as good.

I'm sure you'll do well with them.

For me..Peavey makes a great sounding alt to the high end amp lines. Some are cheaply built but I think Peavey stays tru to one moto and that is to offer a quality product for less money. The testament is you still see guys using amps from 25-30 years ago and they have withstood the test of time and road abuse like all the other major names. (probably better than some too)
Many of us can't afford boutique.. to me that is a limited market sell but its nice to have them in the store. Peavey appeal is for all kinds of players.. intermediate to pro..even tho those of us who used to turn our nose up at them years ago (like myself) have now become fans.

You are a player.. *demo some of the stuff for yourself and use your own ears to decide.*

Another plus for Peavey here! I have a Studio Pro 112, and I think it's a great amp for the money I have in it.

I had five 5150s since their debut in 90...awesome amps for the money..

I also have a highly flamed trans purple artchtop wolfgang, w/floyd/D-tuna..that I never play because I don't wanna scartch it..it's a GREAT sounding and playing guitar!!

I also owned a shitload of peavey bass amps wayyyyyy back in the day..

Peavey always treated me very well for many years..I have no complaints!

While some may like that thing, I for one think it looks like a kid took a bandsaw to a guitar.

I don't care for the guitars, but I like their amps.

I always recommend peavey tube amps for advanced beginners as they are relatively affordable (compared to other tube amps) and they sound really nice.

I played a Wolfie Hardtail USA Special once and loved the neck and tone. I have owned a few Peavey amps and now am running thru a Peavey Ultra 60 1x12 and it rocks!! Jack.
