I have loved guitars and have been collecting them for over 20 years. When I was poor, I still bought them. Over here we have a term and it's called "Tall Poppy Syndrome". It basically means that once you reach the top (and it usually pertains to success in business, but it can mean anything in life), there will always be someone who doesn't like that you've made it, waiting for you to stumble and then cut you back down to size and revel in the fact that you tripped up. And unfortunately, the sad reality is that most people act like that down here in this small country I live in. It really gets my beef.

That's the reason why I like the American way of thinking: If someone has more than me, it means that it's possible for me to do the same, if not better.

Live your own life they way you want, not someone else's...

Yeah John, you're partially right, I really don't care for Corvettes. But Thunderbolts???? Oh yeah, those are bad!

Sanctuary, I really think you're showing your ignorance by assuming I'm jealous. If you don't think I understand, or own expensive cars.....man you don't know me. My original statement had nothing to do with Corvettes in general, or my thinking that their expensive. Actually in the sports car world the Vette is really considered more of a "poor mans Ferrari". I have a damn pickup truck that cost almost as much as a Vette new!
Anyway, my statement was very "generalized", with the Vette as the bragging point. If you don't want to hear any more of my advice maybe you shouldn't read this thread anymore!

Trust me. It's here in the US. Just watch our TV. There is a German term we use here and I can't think of it. It's a universial feeling and hope that the "Big will fall. And the lessers hope they do." Not that I ever think that way.
