  • The best part about my job...

The coolest thing about working at a vintage/used music store? Besides calling my own hours? All the awesome unique gear that comes in here, and the fact that I have a key to the store, so I can stay as long as I want playing it ALL!! Ever go through a music store and wonder what it would sound like if you started daisy chaining all the pedals together? Ever want to make a wall of Smokey amps? Ever want to compare vintage and reissue gear side by side for as long as you want, as loud as you want, with no one looking over your shoulder? Ever just want to get blazed and jam on any one of dozens of guitars for hours? I get to do all that!! Some nights I've stayed 4 hours past closing, just trying stuff out, jamming on the Hammond and whatnot...

    AWESOME!!

plus I came in at 2:30 this afternoon and made $120 today!

I thought it was way cool; the guy behind the counter didn't share my enthusiasm!

My good friend owns a vintage shop in H.B., and we used to move the bender to the store after the bars would close downtown and then start tinkering with the inventory. That morning sunlight just sticks its claw into your heart and lets you see it when you open the door around 8 a.m. the next morning when you're leaving for work, and you say to yourself- "you fukkin' jackass, why didn't you go home at 12 ????????????????????? "
Not helping the situation since 1965!

Sounds like a cool gig. I think I could handle that.
