THANKS all for the kind words. alcohol has never been a problem for me it was the drugs. honestly i hardly ever drink at social events like a wedding or BBQ i have no problem with having a few drinks. in these past 15 or so yrs ive done everything from pills, pot, coke, & just about anything that i didnt need to inject. i did stop doin almost everything but pot & pills about 5-6 years ago. i guess from what i had been doing that didnt seem like anything bad. it really happened very suddenly, last week i said to myself july4th is goin to be my last day of partying. Its actually been much easier than i expected. surpisingly I even had offers from friends who didnt know i had quit, i really had no problem saying NO & even watching them smoke was not as hard as i had thought it would be.

if i have difficulty with this i will seek outside help, but for now it really isnt that hard. i guess ive hit a point in life where, being in a daze all the time just isnt fun or what i want anymore.
