I thought the name sounded familiar. Just dug out a reproduction Zeppelin concert poster and surely enough it said "BILL GRAHAM PRESENTS..." at the top. Is the Winterland a venue in the SF Bay area?

There was the Filmore, Filmore West, Winterland and the Avalon Ballroom all in SF. Never made it the original Filmore. I stopped going in the early '70's. The bands got too big and the clubs too small. They started doing shows at the Cow Palace and then the Days on the Green.. I did go to Altamont in 1969. If you see the documentary, I'm the tall guy sitting on the rim that was the back of the banked race track that was there.:ROTF: I was one of the first 20 people in. It was just amazing watching the basin fill up with people.
