There are so many variants of P-90's now that it is useable size for anything.
I have a bunch of P-90 'humbuckers' as well as the noisy vintage.. each has their own use.
I think I recall reading Gary Moore used a vintage LP JR with a P-90 into Marshall on some of the Victims of the Furture rhythm tracks and his sound is killer on that album IMO.

Here is a quick clip I did. The rythm guitars are the bridge duncan and the lead is the neck.

I like the sound, but not the buzz. I'm getting a duncan mini hum to try in the bridge. Do all p90's getting way thinner as the volume goes down?

Here's a pick of the guitar. The guy I bought it from live in the birth place of Les Paul. After I agreed to buy it, he drove down there and snapped the pic.

"Yes,..that's when they used to shove a red hot spike in your peehole until you screamed "yes, yes, godammit ..you fuggin' dicks..I'm a witch..I am witch..you cocksuckers"" horns666

No offense, but I'm not floored by that tone. The guitar is gorgeous though, and your lead part on that track is pretty killer.

The tone of my Special definitely doesn't thin out as I roll the volume back - but I can hear something like that in your clip. It's like your tone is choked or something. Have you replaced the pots and caps in that guitar?
