You just made my point for me. It's not happening up here, so why should it affect me. I'm not a jew, or a muslim. I feel sorry for the innocent people on both sides that are being hurt or killed, but it's not my problem, not my war. They hate each other. They have been raised to hate each other. Whose fault is that? Certainly not mine. Don't make out like it's all one sided, because anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that's simply not true. I'll tell you why North America is involved. It's simply because the american jewish population has a lot of influence. It's just wrong. Plain and simple.

This is a very simplified approach to this issue. "I'm not a jew, nor am I an arab, so I don't care." This is isolationism at its finest, like me saying.."I'm not a Canadian, why the fuck do we care what goes on up there?" Politics are no longer regional, they are global. Why should you care? You should think about this the next time you fill up your car with gasoline, or your home requires heating oil, or natural gas. Also, keep in mind that Israel is a stabalizing factor in the Middle East, one of the few outposts of reason in that wasteland of insanity, and they do alot of intelligence work for the Western World. While the U.S. has earned the hatred of the Islamic world for its support of Israel, it has also earned an equal level of disdain for its willingness to intervene when its interests, such as the flow of oil, have been impacted. This is not simply an issue of America's couple million jews controlling the United States government, don't be a fool. While the Pro-Israel lobby is extremely powerful, it is only one factor. Israel has a very strong economy as well, and they big time trade partners with the U.S. They buy alot of military hardware.

The Middle Eastern (read "Muslim") culture has historically been one of conflict. Israel was caught up in the wars between Middle Eastern empires thousands of years ago. Babylon, Syria, Assyria, Egypt...there's a very long list. A huge part of the world has always been decades or centuries behind in every aspect of human civilization due to ongoing war.

I've said the same thing in many discussions: we are dealing with people who would rather cut their enemies down to their own level than advance their own culture. Think back to the earthquakes in Iran, where the people were still living in mud huts. Meanwhile, their government is more interested with meddling in Iraq's affairs and threatening Israel. Same thing in North Korea. They are not trying to better their own lives.

Do you honestly give a shit about Canada? If you do, you're a rare bird. Anyway, perhaps I'm being unclear. I care what goes on over there in the respect that it affects me, yes.
