Yeah, I think Fett did this so he could get us all into something else as to take our attention away from guitars and then he could get all the good deals in the classifieds.
After all he needs to keep them trailers filled up!

Now it's time to start the upgrades from the stock kit

                1st- Steering Servo
2nd- Rechargable reciver battery (AA's cost to much) and charger. Do you have a charger for the starter battery????? You bought the REVO right.
3rd- Rechargable batterys for the radio (see note above)
                4th- New Radio System

                It never really ends.

Nitro is real easy to get into now too -- ready to run models are just about bulletproof off the shelf which means you can run tank after tank of fuel through them without having to wrench on anything.

Once you get into high performance stuff - nitro or electric - you spend more time on the workbench than running them.
Electrics also have the MAJOR advantage that they´re significantly quieter. You can drive an electric in front of a busy office building at 11AM w/o any major complaints..... But with even a .21 class Nitro engine noise becomes a factor, and from about a .28-.35 on it essentially limits you to uninhabited areas or weekends.

Also, electrics are generally "plug, drop, drive", wheras even the most reliable nitro engine will have days where it takes forever to get it to run smoothly...

I missed my chance today to take my Jeep to a cool dirt lot. I go to the fleamarket at a drive-in and park in their outside lot early enough to have a great open space to run my car. I'll do it tomorrow. You can't do that with Nitro.

Based on that, does you RC car have a GMS and play music. Does it tell you when to turn? "Use your right thumb, you dumbfuk. You are about to run into your foot.":ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:

On number (2nd), I didn't at first, since it was not on the recommended parts list. Then I thought about it. I called Tower and they recommended a charger. (1st) Isn't there a steering servo in the truck to begin with or is this one that makes it turn faster or better? (4th) Why another radio? I'm just running around the back yard pissing the niehbors off. I'll just tell them it's the weedeater
I'll have all my stuff on Weds. next week, so I can figure out whatever else I need. This is my first R/C anything, so I have a lot to learn

It's just part of the dance. as with guitars or RC cars you find yourself wanting to make it better.

Yes it will come with a steering servo. I think the REVO has two steering servos and that my make it turn OK. I think the stock servo has 80 oz/in of torque and plastic gears.
An upgrade would be something like a JR Z650M servo it has 140 oz/in of torque and metal gears. They sell for around $50.

As for the radio, the stock radio will work just fine but for under $150 you can have a better radio that is more adjustable and can run more than one vehicle. Some have up to a 10 model memory like my Airtronics M8.

I see that Traxxas included a rechargeable receiver battery and charger for that. This is a very cool plus for a ready to run kit. You need to always make sure that the battery for the receiver and the radio are fully charged, a runaway nitro car is not good.

Have fun with it. Things will happen and upgrades come with time, wear and tear.
