It was an ugly series, and it had effects on both teams as you can see with the performances last week after it. Neither team has played very well in the last 3 weeks.

No way I'm going to believe they are finished till they are mathmaticlly eliminated. They looked pretty damn done after game 3 of the 2004 ALCS didn't they? And they still won. Unless the Sox were close to or already knocked out of contention. With Wells' contract up and him possibly retiring, they'd have nothing to lose at that point.

Well lets see. The Yankees tried to get Mirabelli before the Sox got him back this spring. So yeah I could see them doing it out of pure spite. The only way I see Wells moving to NY is if it is to the Mets.

Wells isn't traded yet. And there are still 30 games left. A lot can happen between now and then. As quick as a lead is lost it can be made up. Go ahead and give up on them though. I'm not gonna.

Pitching... That is what the BoSox lack. It is possible they can make up the ground but it will be really tough and it looks like they are mailing it in. The AL Central race will keep both the ChiSox and Twins sharp so that will be hard to make up ground on. Seriously I think the Red Sox would need to win 90% of their games from here on out to even be in the race at this point.
