How High Do You Wear Your Guitar?

Hint::If you need to put your guitar on your knee to reach the 17th fret(ala ZW),it is waaaay too low....

I'm pretty high when I play my gutiar...LOL...Wait!... I mean I wear my guitar pretty high...ER...Wait!... this isn't coming out the way I planned.

He doesn't? Hmmm, who knew. Either way, I like to sling mine like a weapon...lol also, when it's lower, there's less chance of getting your hair caught in the tuners during windmill headbangiing.

I'm wearing mine a bit higher these days. for what i am doing now i have to. plus it's more comfortable

reasonably low - the guitar body is central with my groinal region so to speak - just a tad higher than nuno by the looks of it

I guess this is average hight. It's uncomforatable when it's too high and at 6'1" it looks funny.

but his neck is angled up so it looks worse than it is.groin level works fairly well

Here's a question... Is there a proper height for your guitar to be at or is it just whats comfortable to you? I had a professor in college that always told us your guitar should be in the same height/position it is when you are sitting down. It may be slightly uncomfortable but it's proper... I am thinking he was a nut.

I hold mine semi-dorkish. High enough to rest my right arm on.

i either have to have it way high, or way low.

i can compensate for both, and have different hand techniques for slinging it lower.

but apparently the great Jaco Pastorius says wearing his bass higher, gets a better tone and definition.

is there any truth to that for us guitar players?

I can't sling my guitar too low... my arms are too short, and my hand won't be able to reach around the neck without breaking my wrist!

I wear it as low as I can and still play. Some guitars are hung at different heights. Les Paul custom is MANDITORY to sling low. I'll usually stick it up on my knee ala Zakk to play a lead.
