    Donnie's right John, embrace it! People these days realize that a lot of fantastic musicians didn't make superstar status. You have a lot more on your resume than bands who actually went farther, and you know you smoke a lot of "famous" guitarists.

    Let people show you their appreciation. When they find a player of your caliber that isn't uber-famous, it's like they have a precious secret. Just relax, man. You know that it's as much luck as skill, and anyone who hears you knows you've got the skills.

    I admit when you're married with kids and can't go into the crowd to pick up chicks, that makes it less fun, but absorb the love and adulation. Let those people that you made happy thank you and make you happy too.

        yeah, how do you react to abuse and put-downs?
        the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives
