  • Worst/roughest/most violent mosh pit youve been in?!?

watchign that anthrax video made me laugh. Id love to hear the stories from some of u seasoned vets as to the most core moshpit youve ever been in. My friend who is a fairly big guy said he was ina Slayer moshpit quite a few years back that even he was scared in due to the extreme violence and thrashing.

    Any good tales?!?!?!?

Biohazard at Rutgers in '94. How's this for a billing:

    - Korn
    - Biohazard
    - House of Pain

    Yikes!

I don't think I have ever been in a moshpit, that is for retards.

However, when I saw Living Color in 1988 at Tip's in New Orleans it was so packed and so wild that I thought I was going to get crushed by the crowd. People were stage diving and acting like drunken morons, which in fact they were. This tool kept landing on my head, so I finally got a chance and I punched that fucker in the face. That was the only time I ever did anything even remotely approaching a Mosh Pit....and it was more of a survival thing. I prefer to just relax and watch the show.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Clash of the Titans by far. Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax and Alice in Chains were on the bill. I caught an elbow to the jaw in that pit that almost took me out.

Same show for me. I saw it at the Omni in Atlanta. The Slayer pit was a violent whirlpool. Just a huge circle of madness that never slowed down. Of course, I watched this all from afar. More recently, Superjoint and Goatwhore was pretty insane.

On a side note, I found my Clash t-shirt the other day. The one with all of the bands' logo's on it. I was pumped, it still fits fine!

Anthrax, when they supported Motorhead at Wembley area. It was huge! all the punks there were a pain the arse with their spiked wrist bands.

Also Children Of Bodom earlier this year. Only because i got f*cking pissed off with the little emo kids trying to hit anything and everything they could to look cool in front of their friends. Wankers

Slayer-Motorhead and Overkill in 1988 with only about 200-300 people in a small skating rink. There was nowhere to run and you could hardly breath and it was about 90% pit. I felt like I ran a marathon after that one and couldn`t hear for like 2 days!! Best time I ever had. Jack.

I stayed just outside the "pit" itself because I'm old and feeble, but I saw a bunch of pretty gnarly body shots at a Shadows Fall show a couple years ago.

Other than that out of the many concerts I've been too over the years, the only time I honestly remember being a bit nervous about my well being was at a Disturbed show. It was packed up front and I thought someone was seriously going to die from all the pushing and shoving.

Metallica shows are always fun up front too, but the crowd is usually diverse enough that the idiots are quickly put in their place when they get too violent.

System of a Down, Clutch, and Slayer in a smaller club here in Phoenix called Club Rio. SOAD was still relatively unknown at the time, so it wasn't too crazy. Clutch was a little more crazy, but nothing like when Slayer went on. There were mosh pits forming everywhere! The worst were the ones that had skinheads in them

The pit at a Barry Manilow concert in '92. Oh, you said mosh pit not orchestra pit. No mosh pits for me. I would have probably died.

+3. I have nothing against enjoying the show...headbanging your hair in a circle...but moshpits are really for idiots. I don't see where's the point of them ??

Slayer at the Trocadero in Philly in '90, the water pipes got ripped down and water was everywhere.

Also Sadus/Obituary/Sepultura at Gee Willikers in Pennsauken it was so packed you couldn't move.

+4. I think I was in one mosh pit in my life, when I was like 16, with a few friends, at a local club for a battle of the bands. I prefer just to stand and watch the band than get knocked around and get fucked up.
