+1000. I dont even like mosh pits, but when slayer came on, I had no choice. The ENTIRE floor (all GA seats) was one huge pit. Same thing happened to me, I got clocked by some guy that was probably ~280, but he was cool and helped me back up. Our durmmer got his lip split open in the same pit. crazy shit. Thats the last pit I was in. Was that 1990? I think.
Its a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

I saw the Clash of the Titans at Madison Square Garden in '91. When Slayer came on, seats just got ripped out and thrown everywhere!

Sick Of It All @ graspop two years back.

A wall of death with 7000 people, I swear to god, he stopped the show, told us to split up, it was like parting the red sea, there was like a 50meter gap in between of two huge crowds of like 4000 people each, then the crazy motherfucker jumps GO, jumps OFF the stage runs to the center of the wall while the two halves go to the center, crash into each other and go into the biggest friggin' moshpit I have ever been in/seen.

They fucking demolished that place and I was right in the middle of it, I actually thought I was going to die!
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Pantera at the Philadelphia Spectrum. The floor was general admission and as soon as the first note of Mouth for War openned the show, pretty much the whole 1st level rushed the floor over the barricades and security. It was complete mayhem, and was an incredible show. I remember it was Dime's birthday and White Zombie dropped ping-pong balls and rubber roaches on Dime. Of course they smoked a fatty while playing Planet Caravan too. But the pit....INSANE!!!!!!!!!
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

I'm not a mosh pit guy... Most people I've seen injured was probably either at Overkill or Obituary. Overkill had some people getting violent. Obituary, I saw 3 people go out bleeding really bad from the head / face.

Moshpits are where men get sweaty and touch each other.

I'm not a mosh pit guy either, but I do like a good view of the stage, so occasionally end up somewhere on the fringe of a pit. Craziest I've seen was Soilwork, Killswitch Engage & Anthrax a couple of years ago. A couple of young fucksticks were targetting this bodacious babe down front - between smacking each other around, they would slam into her & her friend. Eventually a kind of phalanx of big guys formed behind to shield her from these young idiots. At one point, one of them caroomed into me, so after I laid him on his skinny arse, he actually apologised & gave me a wide berth after that

Every time Slayer comes by, the pit gets more intense and the body count gets higher.

Or maybe I´m just getting more ruthless, dunno
