To have Cage star in this just is Hollywood and as tacky as we all know they can be. I don't go to movies. Even if I could buy the CD at the fleamarket, I will not buy it. There's something not quite right with this.

Yea, I think I'll hold off on the movie. If I want see a movie with Cage in it I'll check out "Gone In 60 Seconds".

Yes, and congrats to the guy's in the UK.

I was thinking about flying from WA to CA to see my son. I thought about not taking anything with me but the clothes on my back. I can see it now: Here's a 6'6" Wasp with blond hair. He has no baggage. What do we do? I think I may take the train. Then again, it seems like traveling is just becoming a great big pain in the ass.

You make some really good points, and you, myself, and others are not responsible at all for the survivors of the dead, but you're also right when you say how much is enough, and the free ride show is just as gross as the incident, but I do know that I think some of the victims who were passed over and didn;t receive any kind of compensation, oughtta get some kind of kickback. It's so many people that we're talking about though in the end. All my friends became brokers, firemen, or cops, and I was shaking inmy shoes out here waiting for the call that we've lost 24 so far, call you back later, and calls like that. I speed dialed from my office with the 2 phones on my desk and my cell phone and i got 3 phone calls in in the 3 days of dialing, and all i got was i haven't heard for sure yet Tommy, i promise I'll call. I said -Mom, I think we're gonna get hit hard on this one. I was waiting for one of my mom's famous soothing "it's gonna be alright , God will help us through it" kinda phrases, but all I got back was , I think you're right Tommy. And the rest of the next 3 days sucked the big one. It's a touchy subject , it all depends on who you're talking to. Yes, we've loved movies like Saving Private Ryan, I guess due to it being a great movie, but also maybe due to it being a long time ago. I don't know what the right thing to do is, I never have-lol

In all honesty my father stromed Normandy and he to this day still hasn't seen the movie nor does he have desire too. Now otehr vets are fine with it.

Tommy I am 100% with you that some of the profits (a good chunk) should go into a fund for the survivors. It would make me feel a lot better about it for sure.

ok, let's set aside whether it's too soon, who should get the proceeds, nicholas cage as an actor, etc.

what the fuck is the point of the movie? we all lived that event. no movie dramatization is going to improve our understanding of the days events. no movie is going to make me feel more disgust for the terrorists than i already do. no movie is going to make me appreciate more the selfless sacrifice of some amazing men and women.

so mr. stone, what is the point of your fucking movie? to make money. you are just a tool. you are a disgrace to humanity. everyone that participated in making that film sucks. every company involved in distributing the dvd in a few months sucks. lots of goddam sucking going on here.

+1. That's exactly what i was thinking too. There will always be people trying to make money off the back of other peoples misery. Nobody should support them in any way.

While I think making money off the 9/11 attacky is tacky to say the least, the US has a tendency to forget and move on as long as nothing bad has happened in a while.

I think once a week or more there should be a showing of the 9/11 attacks. Never forget.....

I havent seen it but I'll see it when it hits DVD...I'm nto a theater type of dude.

I have no problem with these types of movies....whether or not its fact based or not....hiding from it doesn't make pain away but I can certainly understand people not wanting to bring back painful memories. The truth is it happened...ignoring it does not mean it never happened.

it's not about hiding from anything. it's about not being a money grubbing douchebag.

I hate to be cynical about this but I don't really share all your centiments here.

                                Yes it was a tragedy.
Yes we should hold those responsible to account.
Yes we should treat those who died and their families with respect.

However, does it really take a terrorist act of this magnitude to wake the US up? I didn't see any films being made about the acts of bravery by members of the public after the IRA's Manchester bombing, or for that matter any of the other mainland bombings during the 30 years we had to put up with all that!

What I DID see was more than one US movie with big name actors portraying symathetic views on the terrorism against UK. And it's a well known fact that one of the largest sources of finance for the IRA was the US. But hey, who cares if it isn't on home soil, a!

To be honest I got kinda sick of looking under my car every morning to see if a 'package' had been fitted over night!

I'm not really having a go at you guys in particular but it does seem that the US has a funny way of looking at the world.
