lose a few of your close friends and you may think differently, my friend Richie had a 2 month old baby girl, sh'ell never know her father, I'm positive she could use some cash for support in regards to school, , clothes, the dentist, etc.

From the previews the movie looks sappy to me. However, that could be the way it is presented. This view may not be favored here, but I think that if you are going to make a movie about this event, you make it as real as possible. You show what those poor people on those planes were going through...you show the impacts, the rain of bodies and body parts...don't clean it up and package it in a way that is palatable to the general public. Show it in all of its goriest reality and REALLY piss people off and make sure they don't forget that these were American people with families, dads, moms, sons and daughters who were slaughtered by radical morons on American Soil..

That would be worth seeing. Make this movie equivalent to the fist 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan, which may be the most powerful 20 minutes of film ever crafted.

I have the deepest respect for our police and firemen. However, these guys were doing their jobs when they ran into those buildings. They are professional heros, it is their job. I would have preferred they focused on the people who were wiped off the planet simply because they went to work that day....or got on a plane.

I lost 7 co-workers.
One of them was a good friend of mine. So yes, I have some personal perspective.

My questions is, why am I financialy responsible for someone else's actions.
I believe in charity but some, not all of the victims, saw $$$ in their eyes after this happened. They refused any money from the victims compensation funds in order to persue lawsuits. Most of those lawsuits went nowhere and now they are SOL. Their own greed left them with nothing.
Again, how much is enough?
Are we to believe that the families will NEVER be able to earn any income on their own after this... I find that hard to believe.
Again, some, not all of the families are now trying to use the event as an excuse to never work again.
They want a free ride for the rest of their lives. I find that disgusting.

Well, of course, Bill. I am not saying that you guys are cannon fodder. What I am saying is that they should have focused more on everyone involved. Apparently the movie is jmostly about those Port Authority guys that were pulled out of the rubble alive and what they went through. It is a worthy story...however, if you really want people to think about this awful event, you can't sugarcoat it. I want to get sick, I want to be furious, I want to see it once and NEVER see it again. That was my experience with Saving Private Ryan, Shindler's List and SHOAH. Those were one time movies. That would be a service to people who don't really know the details of what happened there. I didn't know about the raining bodies and body parts everywhere until I was told about by someone who lived right around the corner. I knew people jumped, but I didn't know how bad it was..and all of that was sanitized by the media.

I don't think the point of this movie was to shock obviously but it wasn't to sugar coat it. It is a true story for what it is worth and from what I heard (I was anti this movie until a respected radio personality on my local right wing station swayed me otherwise) it just shows the human spirit and how strong America is as a nation and that was the point of this movie. I am still not sure if I will see it but I felt better espescially seeing that it was Oliver Stone doing it that the movie is tasteful and without hidden agenda.
