  • CD duplication/packaging/selling

I wondered if any of you have ever tried this company? I heard about it from a local band here, so I set up looked into it. Seems like a decent deal if you don't want to (or have the time to) do it yourself. I ordered some, we'll see how it goes.

Are they actually CDs? Some places try to pull a fast one and just use CD-R's...

Not sure, but with our graphics on them, don't think I can tell...it doesn't say anything about CD-R's..is there some way to tell on the finished product?

Yea... flip the disc over and look at the non-graphic side.
If it's green or gold, it's a CD-R. If it looks like a mirror, it's a real CD.

It would be cool if they're commercially pressed cds.

Someone in my area posted about them on a local forum and seemed generally happy with the results, but that was several months ago and I don't recall if they mentioned pressed CD vs. CD-R in their review. In any case, for short runs or projects not requiring a multi-page booklet, it seems like a great deal. I've been considering it if we decide to do an EP or promo before our next full-length.

Update, got my free one today (the 15 I paid for will be here tomorrow). All I can say is this is a top notch product. It's a CD (not a CD-R), the graphics are exactly as I expected them to be. Shrink wrapped w/ UPC bar code. Much easier than us trying to do them ourselves. Of course when we do our full album and need (or want) the interior booklet, this won't work. But hey, this is great for what we need right now.
