  • For you Ibanez haters...

Been woorking on this "Jewel Blue" Iceman the past couple days. Routed out the top to put a light blue cracked mirror top in it. Lo, and behold, I find a paperclip wedged into the tailpiece stud hole. Apparently, the skilled luthiers at Ibanez use them as a shims when needed. I'm just glad my router didnt snag it.

    There's no stopping you!

Again AMAZING! The blue is awesome and the way you make it swirl is just amazing.
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Actually...there is. I wanted to do a sunburst cracked mirror top on this one. Start with silver in the center, then move to light blue, then to dark blue at the edges. But as I laid it out, I realized I would have three times the work, and twice the materials in it. So, I decided to go with a sky blue. It should be cool when it's done.

I wish I had a medium purple in stock. Paul Stanley fans would be all over that.

Doug this guitar looks great with the Blue, if the Icemans could come with a Floyd I'ld been all over 1 along time ago.

that is what Jackson should be doing, I always thought the current "shattered glass" of theirs looked lame.
kudos to the united paperclip luthiers of Japan

That's just awesome Doug. Nice router work Are you going to paint the background white or silver, or something else?

A paperclip?? WTF? That's some seriously low rent malarky. I'd send the paperclip back to them, stating that it's defective and demanding a replacement paperclip.

I would also ask if aftermarket paperclips would fit, and whether they could be US Standard paperclips or if it's only compatible with metric paperclips.

Wheww..I was up til 3 am working on it...I gotta quit that. The raw wood doesnt need painted. The mirror completely covers it.

Looks awesome...very nice contrast..reminds me in a way of a '68 camaro SS/RS after the windshield cracked. Was that a Korean body or a MIJ body btw?
