  • Any other military/prior service JCFers?

Just curious. I've been an electronics technician in the Navy (let the squid jokes commence) for the past 7 years. 5 1/2 years on the USS Mahan (6 month deployments are a great way to get your chops up!), and now on shore duty at the Naval Network Warfare Command, where I sit behind a computer all day pretending to work, but really looking at the JCF. Wondering who else has shared/shares the military experience and what you think of it.

Raised as a Navy brat... my dad was a lifer... retired Master Chief after 30 years in.
I tried to join, but one too many knee injuries that the Navy wouldn't waive prevented me from going in.
My dad would have killed me if I went Army... they would have taken me too.
Much respect for anyone who is or has served.

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.
