Remeber this, ..I been here a pretty long time and I'm known to be outspoken..don't bang heads over taste on amps and music..there is MUCH more valid reason to bang heads..amps and music ain't one of them!!

A attack on a band or amp is NOT a attack on you ..no matter how much you like it..because some good people here always won't..boy, how do I know that??!!

Save the rage for those who deserve it..if someone here F's your ol' lady up the ass against her will..go to it man..you got my blessing..Fuck, gimme a call and I'll give you a hand!!

I agree. Let me assure you I feel no rage over this. Life is too short and too complicated already to worry and get upset about who likes what band for what reason. I can certainly agree to disagree.

Honestly I've been enjoying the discussion. Good points have been made all around and it's been interesting. I guess I kind of baited myself, though. I expected most of the responses I got, and yet still got involved in a (sometimes) heated discussion. That's ok though.

I guess it just seemed to me, at first, that most of the rage directed towards Nirvana and Kurt Kobain was coming from people who were angry that the music they loved was usurped by something they didn't understand or couldn't relate to. I think I presumed to "educate" a few people on how and why things evolved, but all I really did was espouse my own viewpoint. Sorry if I came off like I was angry.

It's all good on my end.

Well, I'm pretty stand off-ish by nature..it's just me.

Yeah, a bit..not If I knew you..like Tim, Ron, E, Tommy , Jack, John, Joe, Em, Jeri, G and well the list goes on..

They're established as my friends or otherwise..friends bust balls, it's what they do..others ignore me, I ignore them..I like it that way.

I wouldn't go to someone I don't know and bust their balls in any way. Unless I know the guy..makes sense.

...Then you can see it wasn't my intent to butt heads with anyone - we were just having a lively discussion, right? I don't need to know someone personally or well to get into a discussion with them - I can learn from people who I may not already know just as well as people I do.

I loved his music, even the Black Francis stuff, but I heard from a lot of people who knew him (I was in Boston during the mid 80s) that the guy was a jerk. Maybe he had a right to be with everyone in his band strung out on heroin. Hard to make good music when the band is comatose.

Heh, interesting. I never knew he had that reputation. I have known in the past what it's like to have to take the hard line with a bunch of slackers in a band setting, though.
