80's metal was created by the music industry. 80's metal was killed by the music industry. Grunge was created by the music industry. Grunge was killed by the music industry. Rap was created by the music industry. One day it will be killed by the music industry. The whole music industry is a push one, not a pull one. The top guys of the industry control it all. They have the power to make you a top star, and the power to make you disappear. Kurt Cobain was one of their products, he had nothing to do with 80's metal disappearing. Currently, rap is great for them, hip hop is great for them, that is why both are being pushed on you daily with ads, tv, movies, radio, whatever way they can push it on you, they will. It has nothing to do with taste, its all marketing and economics...........
rap wasn't made by the music industry. Rap was black man's punk wich was underground for many many years.
Mainstream hip-hop was created by the industry.

Wrong, rap was created from the talkin blues which has been around as long as rock n roll. It was the industry that made it what it is today.............

Yep, pop on some John Lee Hooker, that guy could rap. It was very slow rap, but with slowness came some excellent guitar riffs.
I'm 29, Nirvana was at their peak when I was in high school. I didn't hate them but it always pissed me off how popular they were because they weren't nearly as good as their popularity implied in my opinion. Of course, I've never understood why U2 is so popular so maybe it's just me.
+1... I never liked them and never got what was so great about them? Now Thin Lizzy on the other hand is a kickass Irish band who is a shitload better than U2 imo.
If you're flammable and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit. Unless you are a table.
I liked U2 until 1982. War album. Then they were horrible. Once they started to learn to play their instruments, they were awful. Before, when they had no idea what they were doing, they had to get by on instincts alone. I saw them in 1981 at Woolsey hall in New Haven. Bono climbed up to the rafters on a curtain and hung 100 feet in the air off a light fixture, nothing beneath him but the stage. They gave a good show. Edge played his mindless repetition. The bassist played too loud and pissed everybody off. The drummer had a good haircut.
Wow.. Nirvana hailed from Aberdeen..I never knew..same place Lion came out of. I had friends in that area.. the grunge scene never effected them from doing what they want.

Never liked them, never understood anything about them and can't believe a nu wave band from the 80's is still around today... Or was that New wave? Either way shitty music.
I've heard people refer to that Edge dude as a very influential guitar player.. I don't get that at all!
