  • Most disturbing/disgusting movie you've seen

Well, I just gave in and bought Cannibal Holocaust. Couldn't find it to rent anywhere, never saw it, heard nasty things about it. Watched it with the wife the other night. Didn't bug me too much, as I'm a HUGE horror fan, (the gorier the better), but really upset the wife (especially the real killing of the animals). I've heard this is one of the most gruesome movies out there, but I wasn't around when the whole "grindhouse/exploitation" era of films was big. Any movies you guys have seen that really made you cringe that you'd recommend?

I've never heard of that movie and I will definately not watch it if what you say about the "real killing of animals" is true. THAT IS NOT COOL.

BTW, The Exorcist and Amityville Horror scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.

Oh yeah. Did you pick up Cannibal Holocaust because of my recommendation? I remember mentioning it a couple of times on here before. Anyways great that you watched it!

Yeah they killed real animals. They even threw livepigs into a river with wild piranha's to have them eaten, they filmed it and everything but it didn't make it to the final cut of the movie due to regulatory issues, I believe.

The part where they cut off the guy's dick and start eating it and then dissect 'em to eat him raw is pretty gruesome.

My wife thought Hostel was pretty "disturbing"..

            Nothing disturbs me anymore..

Not when you see rotting, maggot riddled, bloated bodies, grabbing dead babies from dumpsters or from underneath cars, watch autopys, wade thru three inches of blood on a kitchen floor so thick you can taste it, and everything else you could possibly imagine on a daily basis for years on end..

I like comedies..I want to laugh. I like laughing!

            I like classic horror too.

I'll watch anything. I love all horror movies, no matter how gorey or gruesome, even the cheesy, old B-rated ones.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

The most disturbing movie you can possibly watch is the documentary Shoah.

No blood, no gore...just people talking about their experiences with The Holocaust. It will sicken you...trust me. It is the finest movie ever made about this subject matter.

There is no need for fake gore, when the evil in man's heart is sufficient.

Well, the killing of the animals in the movie was pretty brutal, but they used them all for food. A turtle, some rat looking thing, a pig, and a monkey. They chopped the monkey's face off with a machete. The local tribe wouldn't let them use a fake monkey, supposedly. But if you want some great horror comedy, I recommend Dead Alive (called Brain Dead in some places, directed by Peter Jackson), Cemetary Man, and Skinned Deep, and obviously the Evil Dead trilogy. Some perfect B horror movies there.

                      True that, Mike.

Most of the holocaust documentaries I've watched were 10 times as gruesome as any movie could ever wish to be. Even just still, B&W pictures in bad quality envoked more horror in me than any movie will ever.

anyone ever able to get thru "Begotten"..it's just like a grainy, fuzzy black and white nightmare..

It's "disturbing" I guess..but it sucks.. there's no dialog..just sound of people dying and and getting killed.

                          I have a copy somewhere..

I gave it to my dad to watch...he watched it in fast foward..that's pretty much how you have to watch it.

I haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust, and have no desire to. Hostel is probably the most gruesome I have seen in a while.
