    I don't use my Jacksons.

    I am ashamed. I play regularly, including practicing by myself, rehearsal with the band, and we are going to be doing some shows again starting in a couple of weeks. I have a Rhoads Custom and a KV1, and I don't play them at all any more. The King V, I have to re-wire, so that makes sense, but the Rhoads is all set up ready to go, so I have no excuse.

    3 of my guitars are my main players.

    #1 - Xaviere XV500
    #2 - Aria Pro II CS400
    #3 - Yamaha Weddington Classic

    I can't explain it, but I feel more comfortable playing these 3. The Rhoads also sounds great when I'm practicing at home, but doesn't hold up as well at rehearsal. It gets lost in the mix somewhat. Kinda sad eh. Maybe it's because of the Floyd.

    Anyone else guilty?

    Thats why the market has tons of different companies. Gear should match the player. Maybe you just aint a Jackson type of guy. Of course you could always try an old JJ..................

      Not the same as your situation but I have 5 jacksons and 1 charvie...I only really play one of the Jacksons on a regular basis. I love having them all but am wondering if I dont play em.....should I just sell em?

        I play mine. It's actually my best guitar for tone. Better than my Les Paul, Charvels, GMP, Carvin. I play all of them, though.

            I've thought about that before. It would have to be a neck-thru. Maybe one day I'll get to try one out.

              I have a Hamer Artist that is my go to.
              Love my J/C's but can't beat that Hamer.
              Wish I could figure out why?

                My main players are either my homebrewed Frankie, which has Ed tone to the bone, or my MJ...which is a one off custom from the '80s and is essentially an exact copy of a Charvel pointy. They both kick total ass.

                    It has one of the best necks I have ever felt..and according to the guy that built it, that is flamed Koa. The only thing about it that I don't like is that it was built without any angle in the neck pocket, although it has always been Floyded. It was shimmed from the get go for proper angle. I took as much as the shim out as possible and have the Floyd as low as I can get it. However, I liked it when it was floating..but it took some of the tone away. I have also tried 3-4 different pickups, and right now I am happy with the DiMarzio X2N I am using.

                    Cool axe, that is for sure.

                      my BC Rich and Gibson are getting more playtime these days, but that´s more for logistical reasons than anythin else. Everytme my hand starts to cramp up due to the slim neck on the BC I start dreaming about my Jacksons again

                          I have an 80 Aria Pro II L.P. copy that is getting lots of playing time right now.Just a great guitar.Stock humbuckers with an rsguitarworks pot upgrade kit and it sounds so good I'm going to leave it as is.And thats hard for me I'm bad for tinkering.This has been one of those pawn shop finds that you bring home clean up set up and never get rid of.

                            :ROTF: There is a shitbox full of guitars. Or a trailer full.:ROTF: What I love about guitars is that you can taste the difference in brands. It is wonderful. Whether it is the new, old '61 Kay single cutaway for $32/ case acoustic or a new EVH, guitars are just cool. I collect and play guitars because there is no instrument that I can think of that is so varied. Everyone single one sounds differently, is made differenly and plays differently. That's why you have to have them all.:ROTF: An electric guitar has everything you need. You can mod it; switch parts; paint it; customize it or just clean it up and make a piece of shit sing. Sounds like doing a car but it's alot cheaper and you can drive your guitar in bed.

                              Funny you should mention the Aria pickups. My Aria is the only guitar I own that still has it's stock pickups. There's a reason for that.

                              Now that I think about it, the only things not original on the guitar, are the strap locks.
